The Plot of The Mistress of Spices
The movie follows the story of Tilo, a young woman who has the ability to foresee the future. When she was a child in India, she was kidnapped by bandits who killed her parents. She managed to escape and was taken in by an old woman who taught her the secrets of spices. She became a mistress of spices, a guardian and healer who can use spices to help people with their problems. However, she also has to follow three rules: she must never use the spices for her own benefit, she must never leave her spice shop, and she must never touch another human's skin.
One day, she meets Doug, an American architect who crashes his motorcycle outside her shop. She feels an instant attraction to him, but she knows he is forbidden by her rules.
